Club Details

The Club was formed in 1949 as Lawrence Weston Athletic. In 1979 in order to conform to the League’s new ground grading, the club moved to Hallen with a change of name to Lawrence Weston Hallen.

In 1990 the name of Lawrence Weston was changed to Hallen AFC. Large Scale development took place on the ground with the building of the Hallen Centre, giving the club a brand new clubhouse and changing facilities, followed by the erection of floodlights and a 200 seat stand to qualify for promotion to the Premier Division of the Hellenic League.

This was achieved when in the 1996-97 season the club finished runners-up in division 1. For the next four years the club played it's football in the Hellenic league until in the 2000-2001 season it cemented the move to the Screwfix Western League.

In the first season the club reached the last 16 of the FA Vase, only to lose 6-5 after extra time at Brigg Town, and finished a creditable 4th in the Division.

The 2002-2003 season brought the same result as the club headed the table for most of the year only to finish 4th again.

2003-2004 saw the arrival of a new manager and with him the Screwfix division 1 championship.

The following season 2004-2005, Hallen finished 4th in the Premier Division, lost to Harrow Hill in the GFA Challenge Trophy final and exited the FA Cup in the 4th qualifying round at Nationwide Conference Premier side Canvey Island.

Hallen have since finished 9th in both the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 seasons, also narrowly missing out on Les Phillips Cup Final apperances in both seasons, exiting in the Semi Finals.

The 2007-2008 season saw Hallen finish the league in 15th position, with notification of the management team moving on.

The summer of 2008 saw the return of Gary Domone and Andrew Hicks at the helm of the Hallen 1st team for the 2008-09 season finishing in a respectable 9th position.
