Formed in 1976 as Barnham Trojans FC, the youth side of the club has been running successfully ever since. With youth teams at every age from Under 7 to Under 18, the club gained Charter club status in 2007.
In 2003, Under 16 team manager Nigel Smith, along with John Pedrick, decided to try and keep his squad together and amalgamated with Slindon FC. The new team, Barnham FC, took over the West Sussex Division 3 South position from Slindon FC for the 2003/4 season, and with the help of Slindon stalwarts Kenny Collier, Martin Luff and Steve Leonard the challenge to take Barnham FC into County football began. The Reserves made their first appearance in the next season 2004/5 and the 3rd team was formed for the 2005/6 season.
After guiding the 1st team successfully into the Sussex County League, Nigel decided the time was right to “move upstairs”. Steve Leonard took over the 1st team management reins for the 2010 season and guided the team to a highly respectable 3rd place in SCFL Div 3. |
