Battersea FC (known affectionately as BFC) are an established League of Gentlemen Premiership team steeped in history and tradition.
BFC are one of the only remaining 'originals' in the LOG. The club had long been blighted by financial uncertainty, until late 2009 when property magnate Hugh MacDonald Brown led a consortium to rescue the club. Since then the fan base has grown dramatically and the free flowing, total football has left many pundits and purists purring alike.
BFC have had to combat the petro dollars pumped into the league by the Old College Boys teams but still remain in the Premiership building their success around a strong youth set up.
The 2010 / 11 season will be a tough one but their fans and rock strong team spirit will see them start the season as potential dark horses. You could do worse then take a chance on them when the odds come out for the new season. |
