Club Details

The Danes were formed at the end of the second world war, and within a year, had won the 2nd Division of the Scottish Amateur League. In 1947, they won the West of Scotland Cup, defeating Queens Park A.F.C. in the final, and a year later, reached the semi final of the Scottish Amateur Cup, only to be defeated by Greenock High School F. P. by a score of 4 - 3. The next forty five years saw varying fortunes for the team, dropping down the divisions in the S.A.F.A leagues, then fighting their way back up. In 1992 Danes won the Top Score award by scoring 74 goals in division 2 and again in 2001 when they won the award whilst playing in the first division with a total of 109 goals, a total, which still has to be beaten by any other side. In 1994, the club won the Colin Munroe Cup, followed by the Coronation Cup in 2003.

Rothesay Brandane play their home games at the Stadium, High Street Rothesay, a playing surface regarded by many clubs as one of the best in Amateur football, the ground also boasts a small Grandstand and concrete terracing.

The Club is under the Chairmanship of David Meldrum who has over fifty years of service to Rothesay Brandane, playing in every posisition in his playing days, and holding every office in the club.
