Club Details

Brislington Cricketers FC was founded in 1992 by local villagers. They entered the Bristol + Avon League and were immediately successful, winning the league and Temple Colston Cup. Nick Tredigo scored 29 goals in the clubs debut season and that total stood unbeaten for 14 years until Matt Grimes smashed 40 goals in the 2006/07 season. In his farewell season that revived the Cricketers fortunes after a spell in the wilderness, Clive Peters guided the club to a Memorable League and Cup Double, where goals from Jack Elston and a Mark Chaffey winner gave the club a 2-1 victory over Bradley Stoke FC in the Minor Cup Final. Peters' successor, former Cricket Captain Ian Norbury, took over the reigns and the rich vein of success continued by leading his side to another league title. Year 2 under Norbury's stewardship and another promotion, this time as runners up. The club were promoted to the Senior District division in the 2009/10 season as champions. Following another cup triumph in the 2011 season via goals from Mark Chaffey, Jack O'Brien and Matt Grimes (2), Coach Norbury stepped down from his managerial role. The club are now managed by Bernie Grimes. The club expanded in 2008 with the introduction of a Reserves side, managed by club stalwart Phil Peacock. The club, nicknamed "the Cricketers", play there fixtures at the theatre of dreams that is Ironmould Lane which has a capacity of 50.
