Home ground: The Knowle Sports ground, Tenbury Road, Clee Hill, Shropshire Clee Hill United FC was formed in the 1930's. Until the late seventies Clee Hill played on what is now the villages recreation field before moving to their new home at Knowle Sports Field. The picturesque ground surrounded on all sides by fir trees is shared in the summer with the successful Clee Hill Cricket Club. The club has in the past managed to field a reserve team and a Sunday league side, unfortunately in later years the Hill have dropped back to just the one team. A recent influx of youngsters has given hope to the reformation of a reserve team in the not to distant future. Today we play in the Shropshire County Premier League after successfully moving through the Kidderminster Football League- where our predecessors played from the 1930's-and promotion from Shropshire League division 1 in 2003 at the first time of asking. As you can see from our honours for a small village club we have had our fair share of success highlighted by twice winning the Shropshire Junior Cup. |
