Crown Scissett FC play in the Wakefield and District Sunday League Division Two.
The team takes its name from the Crown public house on the Wakefield Road in Scissett, a village 11 miles south east of Huddersfield and 9 miles west of Wakefield.
The pub has had a chequered history and the football team have been very happy to relocate the club's base to the nearby Italian restaurant, La Dolce Vita. This will provide stability for the club and will guarantee the best post-match food in the League. The restaurant sponsors the club in a variety of ways including kit provision. Leeds based security firm, Acclaimed Security also sponser the club's kit. The club's name will remain the same.
The club was formed ten years ago.
The changing rooms are at Scissett AFC, Springfield Avenue, Clayton West, HD8 9QG. It is a short distance to the pitch from here. From Wakefield turn left just BEFORE the pelican crossing, then take the third right up Springfield Avenue (rough surface). Continue up the rough track to the pavillion at the end.
The home ground is at Scissett Middle School, Wakefield Road, Scissett, Huddersfield, HD8 9JX. First right IMMEDIATELY after the pelican crossing. |
