The team was originally formed in 1993 under the name Kinbuck Thistle, but re-named Dunblane Thistle at the start of the 2006/07 season. After a largely unsuccesful first decade, promotion to the First Division was achieved in 2004. This was followed by League Cup success in 2004/2005 season. The team then narrowly missed out on promotion in the 2 seasons that followed and finished the 2006/2007 season in 6th position. The 2007/2008 season has brough mixed success with the team missing out on their target of promotion but winning the League Cup by coming from 2 goals behind to beat Condorrat Club 3-2.
With the 2007/2008 season nearly over and the new season approaching, details of pre-season training will be announced here at a later date. We are always on the look out for new players, so if you are interested coming along please contact one of the committee members. |
