Galaxy Windows Football Club, formerly known as Saint Andrews, was founded in August 2007 by brothers Andy and Paul Barber.
In september of that same year Brendan Clancy of Galaxy Windows Dorset Ltd agreed a ten year sponsorship deal and as such the name of the club was changed.
Galaxy began life as a 5 a side team before becoming Weymouth sunday league members in 2008 where they won promotion as the first attempt. The following season they become founding member of the newly formed Dorset Football League again winning promotion in the first season.
Galaxy continue to grow and altougth no longer members of the WSFL they do have 2 DFL teams and are now the ONLY club on Portland to represent the Dorset Football League.
In their 3 years in exsistance The players and supporters of the club have raised nearly £10,000 for local charity causes and this figure is always increasing with more and more fund raising events planned over the next few years.
Galaxy as seen nearly 100 players come and sometimes go during this time but that as not stopped the club from continuing to grow at an incredible rate. |
