Club Details

The Club was formed in 1949 as Lawrence Weston Athletic playing in the Bristol and District League and gradually progressing to the County of Avon Premier Combination. In 1979 in order to conform to the League’s new ground grading, the club moved to Hallen with a change of name to Lawrence Weston Hallen. After major ground improvements a higher standard of football was being sought, and in 1982 were elected to the Gloucester County League finishing as runners-up in 1987-88 and Champions in 1988-89 and 1992-93. In 1990 the name of Lawrence Weston was dropped and the club became Hallen FC. At the end of the 1992-93 season promotion to the Hellenic League was achieved. Large Scale development took place on the ground with the building of the Hallen Centre, giving the club a brand new clubhouse and changing facilities, followed by the erection of floodlights and a 200 seat stand to qualify for promotion to the Premier Division of the Hellenic League. This was achieved when in the 1996-97 season the club finished runners-up in div 1. For the next four years the club played it s football in the Hellenic league until in the 2000-2001 season it cemented the move to the Screwfix Western League. In the first season the club reached the last 16 of the FA Vase, only to lose 6-5 after extra time at Brigg Town, and finished a creditable 4th in the Division. The 2002-2003 season brought the same result as the club headed the table for most of the year only to finish 4th again. Last year saw the arrival of a new manager and with him the Screwfix Div 1 championship.
