Hop + Friar FC were created in 2008 by Mr Rob Jones, who also manages and plays for the team.
The Hop moved to their 7video Stadium home based at Monkmoor Rec as the 2008/09 season commenced.
The Clubs Home Strip is yellow shirts with black shorts and yellow socks. The away kit is dark blue shirts with light blue trim, light blue shorts and socks.
The Club are sponsored by Video Production Company 7video Ltd, who's joint owner is also a player at the Club.
The team play from the Hop and Friar Public House based at the bottom of Wyle Cop.
After forming in the 08-09 season, the Hop went on to win the Division 4 title before winning the Jason Bramell Trophy three weeks later as well as reaching the last four of the Shropshire FA Cup where they were the last Shrewsbury side in the competition before going out to the eventual winners of the trophy.
The following season saw the Hop win the Division Three Championship as well as going all the way in the SHB Management Trophy before lifting it after a 3-0 victory over Minsterley. They also made it to the Quarter Finals of the Shropshire FA Cup before bowing out, once again, to the eventual winners of the trophy.
Last season saw another league triumph in Division 2 but only a semi final appearance in the management cup and just a last 32 place in the Shropshire FA Cup.
Hop Manager Uncle Bone announced his retirement towards the end of the 09-10 in order to focus on playing a more regular role as a player and after a string of interviews, the Clubs board chose Striker and Club Sponsor Pete Sims to take over as Manager, with the help of Uncle Bone in the background.
Due to personal business commitments, Sims spell in charge only lasted until February before Uncle Bone made an emotional return to lead the Club to the Second Division Title.
