Hoveton Wherrymen were formed in 1992 by Ray Gates and Alan Royall who left Wroxham Football Club to form the team. The club started in the North East Norfolk Division 3 and four years later, in 1995/96, they topped Division 1 and did the treble by winning the League, the Benevolent Cup and the League Cup. Hoveton Wherrymen then had a brief spell in the Anglian Combination before returning to the North East Norfolk League. This season Hoveton Wherrymen have managed to get elected back into the Anglian Combination, and have established a reserve team to play in the Rogers and Norton League to support the 1st team. |
