CLUB HISTORY
The Lewisham Borough (Community) Club was formed in March 2003 to create a senior club, there were three intermediate Clubs within the Borough. The three Intermediate Clubs were:-
Moonshot AFC
Ten Em Bee
AFC Lewisham who were formerly Elms FC
The Executive was formed and the birth of the Club and entry into the British Energy (now Vandanel) Kent County Football League was established. A three year plan was devised to win Division 1(West), Premier Division and progress to the Kent League and in addition achieve Senior Status.
The inaugural season in 2003/04 under the mangership of Phil Simpson the Boro Club won the Division One West Championship. At the end of this season Phil Simpson decided to stand down and Anthony Sands was installed as Player Manager.
Anthony was able to build on the 2 previous season's successes which culminated in the Club claiming the Premier Division title in 2005/06. Two Championship's within 3 years of the Club's formation. Senior status was also acheived in October 2006. However the Club were unable to progress to the Kent League due to the criteria and eligibility requirements relating to their ground at Ladywell Arena.
Season's 2006/07 and 2007/08 again saw creditable mid table finishes.
With the departure of Anthony Sands in the Summer of 2008 a new manager in Fabio Rossi was installed with Dave Slater assisting for the 2008/09 season.
The New Executive formed in 2008 are determined and committed in further developing this Senior club which represent the people of Lewisham. The Club are still looking to progress further and hope to have a spectator stand and clubhouse in place shortly with a view on meeting the requirements to join the Kent Football League.
