Home ground: Lower End, Ashendon, Bucks, HP18 0HE Ludgershall United Football Club (pronounced Luggar-shawl) is an English amateur football club based in the nearby village of Ashendon, the inspiration for the Wes Craven film “The Hills Have Eyes. They currently play in the Aylesbury and District League Division 2, having been promoted in third place from Division 3 in the 2009-10 season.
The club was founded in 1907 by Dave Fry, playing on the Rectory in Ludgershall where the club played for nearly 90 years, before relocating to the nearby village of Ashendon in 1998.
Ludgershall reverted to the original club colours of green and black for the team's kit for the 2009/10 season. This was a relatively successful season for Ludgershall finishing 3rd place under the guidance of player-manager Rob 'Biffa' Evans after a number of disappointing league campaigns.
Ludgershall have registered a reserve side for the 2010-11 season who are playing in Division 3 of the Aylesbury and District Football league and are currently managed by 'rookie' Nathan Hollings.
If you interested in playing for Ludgershall please contact Rob Evans.
Training is currently at Ashendon playing fields every Tuesday @ 7pm unless there is a midweek match (see fixtures for details) until it moves back to Waddesdon school in September.
Signing-on fee: £10
Match subs: £3.50
If there is capacity Ashendon pitch can be rented out for £50 to outside teams.
