The NMLFC played its first matches in 2006, suffering defeats to Leeds Medics and Killingworth YPC, before heading to NAMS 2006 in Southampton, where the girls were unlucky to not progress beyond the group stages, winning two, drawing one, and losing only one of their group games.
From 2007-2010 we competed in the Northumberland Women's Development League and were fortunate enough to be able to field two teams for one of these seasons. With interest in women's football growing in the area the league has grown and the competition is even harder!
The team is now competing in the newly named Northumberland Women's County Football League after winning NAMS 2010 in Leeds, defeating the host team 1-0 in the final - a first for any of the NMFC squads!
After a tough season 2010-2011 the team has some new recruits who are proving to have the energy and determination to keep the team going to here's to the new season...
GROUND DIRECTIONS: NMLFC have a brand new home ground for this season, we can be found at Aura, Walbottle Campus, Hexham Road, Walbottle, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE15 9TP.
