Club Details

Home ground: Mill lane Wolverley.

A Queen’s Head Football team was started in the late 70’s by local group of musicians and their friends as a social team. Previously known as ‘The B'hall Bashers’, they enjoyed a few tours of the south. Using their musical abilities to gain favour with the locals and provide free beer, these tours are now legendary.

Throughout the 80’s and 90s the team evolved and was a regular in the Kidderminster + District Football League but always remained a social club at heart. Made up of mainly local Wolverley lads and relying on the support and hard work of many local individuals and companies, the club went from strength to strength.

Unfortunately, although the club had just enjoyed its most successful period, winning multiple leagues and a cup, the end of the 2003/2004 season saw the Club fold. An overwhelming display of support from locals ensured the quick resurrection of the club though, starting us from scratch back in the 6th Division the following season.

Four seasons on we have found our feet once again, balancing the need for results, utilising local talent as well as bringing through new young players. We are actively trying to become even more a part of the village, happily supporting local events and helping out where ever possible.

It is vital, for our future that we bring more local talent on board. We will start training mid July at the Wolverley Playing Fields so if you are over 16 and fancy it please feel welcome to pop along on Thursdays (7pm). Otherwise we would love to see you lending your support at our home games next season.

The photos on the wall of the Queen’s Head bar wall are testament to the success of the club and the community spirit it both receives and exudes.
