Club was formed in 1997 to give local players the chance to play football at reasonable level on a Saturday in Shifnal as the only other Saturday side was Shifnal Town which was playing at too higher level for most Shifnal lads, so Tyrone Robinson, Dave Hassall, Rose Hassall, Derek Killen, Steve Mountford, Dave Dainty formed the club, with tony young following shortly after, Dave Hassall threw in £300 to get us off the ground, and the headquarters being the War Memorial Club, where Bass brewery donated a kit, and Jim O’Connor purchased tracksuit tops, the club was accepted into the Shropshire county League Division One, Ian Stott and Nick Shelley were appointed managers and we were away, playing Ironbridge Town in our first ever game drawing 3-3 at Ironbridge. During those years we have had the following as managers, Dave Dainty, Tony Young, Lee Roberts, Dean Jones and Matt Flanagan (twice).
Reaching the Shropshire Junior Cup Final, Tom Jones Cup Final, 1st Division Cup Final 3 times, the Ron Jones Cup Final, and numerous semi-final appearances, have also been 1st division champions and reaching 3 semi finals in the same season only to lose them all, we are now in our second season in the premier division of the county league with once again Matt Flanagan at the helm, the club has been that successful that we started a reserve side in the Telford Combination League to bring on some youngsters along with a few old heads, we at the club think we are gaining momentum season by season not only on the playing side but also financially and are on the lookout for a ground of our own.
