The Shoulder of Mutton FC play in the Bournemouth Hayward Sunday League Division 1
Situated on Ringwood Road near to the Bear Cross Roundabout in Bournemouth; the Shoulder of Mutton is the second oldest public house in Bournemouth and is 'reasuringly expensive' according to landlord Vivian and Jamie.
The Shoulder is well known for actively encouraging and supporting a wide variety of sports including darts, shooting, horse racing, golf, cricket and of course football. Currently there are two teams representing The Shoulder of Mutton, the 1st team playing in Division 1 and the reserve side under the new management of Steve Clarke in Division 4.
Season 2010/11 was a disappointment as no silverware was won. The first team reached two semi finals, losing by the odd goal in each, were runners up in the league gaining automatic promotion and Jamie Moores won the league Golden Boot award - again. Most teams would be pleased with these achievements but at the Shoulder we strive to be winners, hence the disappointment.
In the close season some significant additions have been made to the first team squad which will greatly enhance our desire to be succesful and repay our sponsors and the pub with silverware.
This web site last season had over 16,000 hits proving what a great platform in which to keep everyone informed and also build competition and team spirit.
The first team is extremely fotunate to have the brilliant support from its sponsors Danny and Paula Kinsella of Kinsella Construction - based in Christchurch who remain for season 2011/12 the main sponsors.
Our sincere thanks go to them for their investments and continued support to the football section.
This season we hope to build on what we have achieved over the last few seasons. If you are reading this and fancy being part of the Shoulder 'Experience' then please do get in touch or keep an eye on the news items for regular updates.. |
