Club Details

Home ground: Rackheath Rec

Rackheath Green Man play in the Evening News Norwich Sunday League Divison 1A.

The club was founded 1991 as Salhouse Sunday by Nick Everett. The name was changed to Rackheath Sunday 1996, and then to the Sole and Heel in 1998. From the 2006/07 we have a new sponsor and we are to be called Rackheath Green Man.

Honours:

Crusader Sunday league div 2 runners up 1993-94 and 1995-96

Crusader Plate runners up 1994-95

Norwich + District Sunday football league div 4b runners up 1998-99

The club started off in crusader Div 2 got promoted in 1993-94 then got relegated the following year but managed to get runners up in the plate. We then went straight back up in 1995-96 and joined the district league after finishing in respectable positions for two years in div 1. Finished runners up in 1st season in div 4b and then got promoted to div 2a in 2002-03 but after spending two seasons in div 2a was relegated in 2004-05. The 2005/06 season saw the team finish in 7th place. The 2007/08 season produced the most consistant football the club has seen for many years and were promoted back to div 2a.During 2008/09 season the team produced the highest league finish ever recorded finishing 3rd in Division 2a. The 2009/10 season saw the club finish 3rd for a 2nd year running, therefore gaining the club promotion to Div 1a. Unfortantly a couple of changes have been carried out this season with the departures of Sam and Robert Groves to Reepham Town, the club are looking into potential signings of Ross Sanders, Swifty and Andrew Jenkins. With most of the players from last season still playing high hopes are expected for 2010/11
