Thanet Leisureforce will be competing in the Newly named Belmonte Bowmanor Thanet Sunday Football League for season 2006/07 which commences on September 3rd. The New league has come about as a result of the Thanet Works Sunday League + Thanet Premier Sunday League "coming together" to form one larger league last season, with a maximum of 60 teams spread through five divisions. Thanet Leisureforce formerly competed in the Works League, and have done so under their current name since the 2000/01 season. Since that 2000/01 season the club have won the Division 3 Cup, Consolation Cup, and Invitation Cup although for the past three seasons silverware for on pitch activities have been scarce. Instead the aging legs of the players have been more suited to winning less strenuous tropies such as the Thanet Works Quiz trophy three times, and the Thanet Works Pool Cup on one occasion. For the more "senior and experienced" members of the team, these trophies are of great importance and of course you are able to drink at the same time!
We are sponsored by Thanet Leisureforce who are responsible for running many leisure activities in the Thanet area, such as Hartsdown and Ramsgate Leisure Centres, local swimming pools, and also The Winter Gardens Theatre in partnership with the local council. www.margatewintergardens.co.ukFormer names of Thanet Leisureforce F.C are Caprice Wellington, The Caprice and Chauffuer Taxis. The longest serving player is Darren Beal who has appeared for all of the above over the years and for the past six years the Club Secretary has been Martyn Drury. |
