Club Details

We are Tynemouth Gunner Football Club, we were founded at the beginning of the 2007-2008 season by Rob Molineux and Tom Harrison as a group of friends all with a desire to play Sunday league football once again. Due to work and family commitments Rob stepped down as manager in Oct 08 and was replaced by Rae Crosland, however, due to family commitments he also stood down in February 2009 to be replaced by Steven Patterson. Patterson has led the side to their most successful season to date this year by guiding the side to promotion to the Premier Division of the Blyth and Wansbeck League.

CLUB HISTORY

2007/08 season. Blyth and Wansbeck division 2, Final league position 3rd although without our points deduction we would of won league. Won in cup Semi-Final but as our GK had not played enough games we were kicked out. All in all a good first season and but for a couple of administration errors we would of been league champions and cup finalists.

2008/09 season. Blyth and Wansbeck Division 1. After a poor start to the season and not helped by the awful weather and player unavailability, we recovered somewhat to finish a respectable 7th, although we did reach two semi finals.

2009/10 season. Blyth and Wansbeck Division 1. We started the season with big hopes and ambitions and thankfully lived up to those expectations by finishing second and gaining promotion to the Premier Division. We also reached two semi finals, narrowly missing out on the League Cup Final after a heartbreaking penalty shoot out defeat v Monkseaton Hunting Lodge who went on to win the competition.
