The Vine FC was formed in 2010 from the previous succesfull sides of Durrington United and Rudi's Rovers. We wanted to get back to enjoying football again and with the support of the Vine Pub and get all the corrent and new players to have a nice place to visit after games.

In our virgin season as The Vine FC we managed to come 4th in division three and get in two cup finals which was great. We won the invitation cup and got promoted (forced) to division 2 so a good first season.
It will be a tough season this year as we are in a really tough division with not one easy game ahead of us.
There will be a large change in the squad this season too as we have lost 3 important players (splitters) to other sides and being our captain, goal keeper and most gifted midfielder which is going to hurt us.
However it gives others players a chance to step up and for new signings to come in and make their mark.
We expect to be as competitive team this season yet again and will no doubt look for another cup run again.
Failing that we will have a laugh stick together as a group and enjoy what we can whilst getting lashed down the vine most sunday :) |
