Thornaby FC play in the Skillstrainingltd Northern League Second Division. Thornaby were established in 1980 when Stockton Cricket Club formed a football team and joined the Wearside Football League.
Thornaby were known as Stockton FC until 2000, when we changed our name to Thornaby-on-Tees FC, then again changing 1 year later, simply to Thornaby FC.
Thornaby continue to play in the second division. Our ground, Teesdale Park, is potentially being developed for housing with a new clubhouse to replace the old club house on the site with new football facilities. We reached the quarter finals of the Ernest Armstrong Second Division Cup in 2008/09 season, being beaten by eventual finalists Sunderland RCA. The ground is still under development - security fencing is to be erected this summer supplied by Stockton Borough Bouncil to enable the site to be developed.
As well as the Northern League team, there are 6 junior teams aged from under 8's to under 18's.
Our home ground is Teesdale Park, Acklam Road, Thornaby on Tees TS17 7JU |
