Newport County Borough play in the Shropshire County Premier League. They first played in the Market Drayton league in the late 1940's under the name of Tibberton before moving into the Wellington League in the early 50's. After winning Division 1 1981-82 they were then elected members of the County League and in 1984 were promoted to the premier division. Tibberton won their only premier division title in 1994-95 under Manager Terry Medlyn . In 2003-05 they moved to Dawley with the name of Dawley Villa before moving back to Tibberton in 2005-06 under brother Dave Medlyn. Tibberton played their last ever home game at Maslan Crescent on April 12th 2008 and moved to Shuker's Field, Newport, for the season 2008-09. The club decided to change their name to Newport adding County(County of Shropshire) and Borough (Borough of Telford + Wrekin) to avoid any confusion with any other Newport named clubs. NCBFC then moved to Doseley Road, Dawley for the season 2009-10.
