Club Details

Originally formed in Summer 2005 by manager Paul Smith as Cresswell Wanderers U10's playing in the South Staffordshire Young Women's League with home games at Cannock Cricket + Hockey Club. All the girls were total beginners but after a hard first season the team went on to dominate the league for several successful seasons including a Hat-Trick of 'League + Cup Doubles'-3 years out of five-(we are the only team to of achieved this) aswel as various tournament wins.Half way through that came the name change to Wednesfield Girls FC with home matches played at Wednesfield Social Club + Coppice School.

Paul + his team were then invited to join the Premier Division of the Central Warwicks League-one of the toughest in the country-in 2010/2011 season. The girls finished a very creditable 3rd in that first season (their first at 11 a side) losing only 3 games all season.

The team have also took part in various girls soccer tournaments around the country.Recently in 2010/11 they finished runners up at the Butlins Festival Of Football @ Butlins Minehead, won the 'Wyrley 7's' @ Great Wyrley in both U15's (two years running) + U14's age groups + Oldswinford at U14's

Over the years manager Paul has had to suffer the loss quite a few notable players to other teams including academy teams Wolves,West Brom + Aston Villa as well as some to our local rivals. But despite this the success has been achieved with a spine of the team that all played together in the very first matches as beginners playing for Cresswell Wanderers back in 2005.

The club prides its self on being a fair team who like to play good football. We have never had a player sent off.The girls + their families all have a special bond + in all they years they've been together there's hardly been a crossed word between any of the girls.

Right from the very first match in October 2005 we have at various times filmed our matches, you can watch them on YOUTUBE,just click the 'youtube' link on the right of the home page.
