Worthing Wanderers FC were established in 1999.
Managers: Rob Brown and Nick Brett (Joint) 1999-2000, Darren Payne 2000-2005, Craig Stuart 2005-2006, Rob Brown 2006 - Present
In the summer of 2005 great news broke by Sky Sports that life long fan and oil tycoon Robben Abrownovich had taken full control of the club. Money was being pumped into the squad for transfers and big wages to attract the quality of players needed to take the club to the next level.
In the 2005/06 season Stuart took his side to become Premiership Champions of Worthing and retained The Mike Smith Trophy at the hands of L+S yet again, who also finished runners up in the league. It was Wanderers most succesful season and the trophy cabinet proved it.
At the end of the "Wonder Year" Craig Stuart decided to leave as Assistant Manager of Worthing Utd Reserves. Robben Abrownovich took control over the summer working thru the night (litterally) to sign the likes of Peter Hoyle (Revenue's Manager), Glenn Souter (L+S's Captain) and Lucky Gohler (Sompting's Playmaker) before pre season had even started for the 2006/07 season. If it wasn't a psychological blow to Wands rivals then nothing would be.
Robben is still spending the money as he appointed Rob Brown as the Manager for the new season ahead.
This could be the match made in heaven, a tasty looking squad that is pushing to retain the title and cups and then ideally make the move to West Sussex Premier League for the 2007/08 season.
