The club was founded in 2003 when there was just one junior side, which played at U10 level. Since then the club has expanded rapidly to include mixed boys and girls teams from under 7 through to under 10, as well as boasting a thriving girls section, with teams at u10, u11 and u12 level.
Wylam Rockets was founded as, and remains a a Charter Standard club, and offers fun football (both competitive and non-competitive) in a safe, friendly environment with F.A qualified, CRB checked coaches involved at every level.
The u7s play all their Apollo Doors matches at a neutral venue - Gateshead Cleveland Hall CAFC, Lyndhurst Centre, Gateshead. Tyne + Wear NE96TA -junction of Beacon Lough Rd with Easedale Gardens in Gateshead.(marked on some maps as Lyndhurst County Comprehensive School). Exit the A1 western by pass at the Team Valley trading estate going all the way round the roundabout there past Kingsway South and up Chowdene Bank dog legging over the Durham Rd at some traffic lights to get onto Beacon Lough Rd. Then up that road a little way and turn right on to Easedale Gardens to access the venue.
Other u7s home fixtures are played at the Jubilee Playing Field (Main Road, Wylam NE41 1DN) located at the heart of the village community. Wylam is easily accessible, being signposted off the A69 (from North, East and West) and via Crawcrook (A695) when crossing the River Tyne from the South. Please DO NOT PARK on the main road outside the ground as we have had access complaints.
