FC Wirral 4-3 AFCS September 25, 2010 - Birkenhead + Wirral Association Football, Division 2 Previous match | Results list | Next match
A match that was shrouded in controversey, due to nasty tackles and poor officiating. AFCS dominated possession and went behind against the run of play thanks to some unusually sloppy defending.AFCS were right back in the game in the 20th min after some great battling from MJ which resulted in a pull back on the edge of the 6 yard box which was neatley converted by JJ. The home team took the lead again after some poor officiatin allowed a pass to FCW player who was standing on the edge of the 6 yard area 12 yards behind the defence and slotted home from close range. Again AFCS pushed forward and again great work on the left this time from LB led to another goal from JJ on the 35th min. Half time. The 2nd half started in the same vain with AFCS pushing on and were rewarded in the 55th min as a great through ball from EC set up JJ for his hatrick. AFCS were hit just before the end after a lacklustre head back to the kepper was pounced upon by FCW player who lobbed the keeper to make it 3-3. It was then that further controversey hit the match, the ball went into trees over hanging the pitch and went out of play only for the referee to completley be blind to this which resulted in the FCW getting the winner.
