Staveley Utd 0-2 Endmoor March 20, 2010 - League Cup Previous match | Results list | Next match
Staveley Utd entertained Endmoor in the Mason and Freeman Cup with a semi final place up for grabs. Both teams started well and got into good positions, but both teams were lacking the killer ball in the final third. Endmoor started to gain control of the game, and some fast football left Staveley picking up several bookings. Endmoor had the first real chance of the game, Graeme Cowperthwaite racing threw but the Staveley goalkeeper saved his shot well. However, just before half time Endmoor had the lead. A good run from Niko Noreci resulted in the ball at the edge of the area at Liam Jackson's feet, and Jackson curled the ball well into the corner. In the build up to the goal Niko Noreci was fouled, and this resulted in a second booking and ultimately a red card for a Staveley defender. Endmoor started the second half well, and doubled their lead on the 50 minute mark. A long throw into the box ended up with Nathan Dixon having a close range shot saved, but young right back Jackson Eatherden was on hand to finish off from close range. Staveley had some decent chances soon after but Endmoor held out and nearly extended the scoreline through Cowperthwaite and then Scott Frazer. Goal summary: 42 min - Liam Jackson (8/10) 50 min - Jackson Eatherden (7/10) |
