Appleby Res 1-4 Endmoor September 19, 2009 - Westmorland League, Division 2 Previous match | Results list | Next match
Endmoor got their third consecutive win, but it was not a vintage performance, especially in the first half. Endmoor took the lead early on when Liam Jackson fired in from close range. However, instead of spuring on Endmoor, it did the opposite, which led to Appleby getting on top. Appleby got what was probably a deserved equaliser on the half hour mark. The sides looked to be going into the break level, but good work from Lee McNaughton lead to a good cross in which Adam Carradus nodded in. 2-1 at half time. After a poor first half, Endmoor were much better in the second half. Just five minutes and Adam Carradus had his second and Endmoor's third. Neat play between Ryan Ormrod and Carradus led to the winger being put clean through, and Carradus slid the ball under the Appleby keeper. Endmoor went close through Liam Jackson and Adam Carradus, before sealing the game, when debutant Graham Calpithwaite finished off after Lee McNaughton's shot was saved. Scott Frazer got himself in the referee's book for what was described as an 'act of petulance' by ref. Frazer kicked the ball away when there was no need, an 8 quid fine should suffice. Appleby would've got a consolation if it wasn't for keeper Chris Wilson making two great saves. A good result and a good improved performance in the second half. Goal summary: 10 min - Liam Jackson (7/10) 42 min - Adam Carradus (7/10) 50 min - Adam Carradus (8/10) 75 min - Graham Cowperthwaite (7/10) |
