Lions 1-2 Broadmayne November 9, 2011 - WSFL, Division Champship Previous match | Results list | Next match
Following a very impressive pre-season when it really mattered the Lion's came up short in front of goal. Having been hindered by last minute losses of both forward players it was left to the old firm heads of Colin and Kipper to spearhead our attack. With the wind behind them the Lion's dominated the first half with numerous corners and runs on goal which sadly came to nothing despite great efforts by the front two. So nil nil at the break and the Lion's were still looking the more likely to take the game. However a fluke goal by Broadmayne in the second half put the Lion's behind only for Nathan Steele to score a screamer to equalise. The game looked like it was going to end a draw until the Lion's keeper spilled a shot and the Broadmayne striker pounced in the last minute. A good spirited competitive game which the Lion's should have won. Thanks to Mike O for running the line! Hopefully our forward players will be back next week and the same level of effort and a bit more commitment will see us get our first league win. If you ant to be involved next Sunday text me on 07947883235 ASAP and before Training on Tuesday (otherwise see me at training). Dave Goal summary: 75 min - Nathan Steele (10/10) |
