With 3 players letting the guys down it was always going to be a tall order to take anything off the league leaders, HOWEVER, the Lion's played well and were well in contention until being reduced to 10 men early on with Ben Rowe's petulant dismissal. 2 mistakes by the keeper then gifted Wellworthy's a 2 goal start and it was always going to be an uphill struggle. The Lion's never gave up though and man of the match Matt Croxson had a number of chances to get the Lion's on the scoreboard. A great strike from Wellworthy's made it 3-0 at the break and despite all of the Lion's heroic efforts the end result was a 4-0 loss. In addition a further reduction in Lion's personnel took place late on when John Chester was sent from the field. A lot of pride can be taken by those 9 men plus subs that finished the game and great debut's from Adam and Dan. Barney was also a star turning out after a late call up. Next game is at home vs Market House next Sunday and Training commences at Royal Manor Astro on Tuesday (6.30-7.30) and its still just £1.00. See you there!
