|Boreham Wood Football Club is delighted to announce a partnership with the Japanese cultural exchange organsiation Barefoot Communications. The partnership sees Boreham Wood Football Club hosting young Japanese players and coaches who come to England to improve their footballing skills and knowledge of coaching. Japanese players will train and play with the PASE Scheme, whilst studying English at a local English school. The Japanese coaches will spend their time observing and practising sessions in preparation for the FA International Coaching Licence in the summer. All the Japanese study fulltime English and stay with host families in the area.
Chairman Danny Hunter said "With the PASE Scheme we have for some years now been committed to providing young players the opportunity to take their game to the next level whilst gaining qualifications and life skills at the same time. I see this new initiative with the Japanese as an extension of this and we are delighted to have an International dimension to the Scheme. It will not only give the Japanese a chance to immerse themselves in British football culture and learn from Boreham Wood F.C., but I think it will also benefit our lads. The Japanese sense of discipline and work ethic can only be a plus for the PASE Scheme and the Club as a whole and we are looking forward to a long a successful relationship with Barefoot"

11 Jun 2006 - PREMIERSHIP STARS ARE COMING TO MEADOW PARK
|No less than four Premiership sides will be visiting Boreham Wood Football Club's Meadow Park ground during the course of a star-studded Pre-Season fixture list.
Champions League finalists Arsenal, Premiership new boys Watford, Charlton Athletic and Tottenham Hotspur have all confirmed dates for a series of summer warm-up games as Boreham Wood prepares for life back in the Ryman Football League Premier Division.
It's as good a set of Pre-Season games as you are ever going to see. The Club has worked very hard to get them and is thrilled it's come together.
If you look at what Boreham Wood F.C. has achieved, what's important is the fact that teams like Arsenal, Watford, Tottenham Hotspur and Charlton Athletic are coming back which means they must be pleased with the playing surface and how they've been treated! It shows the massive improvements the Club has made in recent years.
Boreham Wood's Director of Football, Ian Allinson, said the Club would be looking to build on last season's successes in the Southern Football League Division One East and the F.A. Challenge Trophy.
He said "We had a strong Squad last Season that served us well, towards the end of the Season it caught up with us a bit and took its toll on the lads but we're staying loyal to them. We are probably looking at bringing in a defender and a midfield player and there are a couple of names we are interested in but nothing concrete yet. We need to make sure we start the Season well and we are aiming for a mid-table or top-half finish, the top five or six would be fantastic for us."
The players resume training on 3 July 2006.
Championship "Play-off" Winners Watford will bring their First Team Squad to Boreham Wood on Saturday 29 July 2006 for a 3pm kick-off before the arrival of Arsenal on Friday 4 August 2006, Kick Off: 7.45pm.

17 May 2006 - RELEGATION REPRIEVE FOR HENDON FOOTBALL CLUB
|Hendon Football Club has been reprieved from relegation from the Ryman Football League Premier Division after it was announced that Canvey Island had dropped from the Nationwide Conference National to the newly-formed Ryman Football League Division One North voluntarily.
Canvey Island F.C. had originally requested dropping to that level but normally Clubs are only relegated two Divisions.
Canvey Island Chairman Dennis Rugg said: “When resigning from the Conference we were told we might be placed in the Westview Essex Senior Football League and we specifically asked to be placed in Ryman North.
“It was unexpected to be placed in the Premier Division as our financial situation was more suited to the Ryman North at this particular juncture.
“In the light of those circumstances our position has been reconsidered by the Ryman Football League, who have now confirmed our position in the Division of our choice.
“Ticket prices as already announced will still apply as these were calculated on our Ryman North expectations.
“At a meeting of all Supporters to be held at the Club on Thursday we will give an update on the timetable for the purchase of Canvey Island F.C. Limited, including the lease of the ground. However, I am happy to report that these matters are proceeding at full speed with the full co-operation of Jeff King.”
12 May 2006 - PRESS RELEASE FROM BOREHAM WOOD F.C.
Boreham Wood F.C. Chairman Danny Hunter announced this week that he has put together an attractive list of Pre-Season games throughout July and August. That includes Arsenal, Watford, Charlton Athletic, St. Albans City, Enfield Town, Northwood, Wingate & Finchley and Leighton Town.
Hunter said “I still have to confirm dates with the bigger Clubs… Arsenal are contesting the Champions League Final against Barcelona next week and Watford are in the Championship Play-off Final against Leeds United. However, both of these prestigious Pre-Season fixtures are confirmed… So I’m thrilled”.
Hunter continued “with a little luck we’ll see Arsenal parading the European Cup and Watford will be a Premiership Club by the time they visit Meadow Park. So we have a lot to do over the next ten weeks.
I’m determined to ensure the pitch, Stadium and facilities are all improved over the summer months. We will try to build on our League title success and continue the progress we made last Season.
I will again ensure, that all children who go to Junior Schools in Borehamwood, Elstree and Shenley are offered our “free” Season Ticket for Schools scheme. This scheme gives “free” entry to all our home League games next Season in the Ryman Football League Premier Division. This proved popular with local families last Season and I’m keen to encourage that… application forms are now with all Junior Schools” he said.
“Next Season will be a transitional Season for us after our promotion. It’s clear we cannot compete budget or crowd wise with the bigger Clubs in our Division like AFC Wimbledon or Chelmsford City.
However, I’m a great believer, if your organised, hard working and disciplined. You can create a mentality in the Dressing Room that refuses to accept mediocrity. We showed in the F.A. Challenge Trophy run we enjoy being the underdog, so if we can recreate that attitude we might just surprise a few.
I’ve given up caring that our crowds are the smallest in the Division. I accept that, so it’s not an issue... But that makes the challenge even better… we will work hard on Team spirit, we will work hard on our fitness, we will work hard on our pattern of play and we will continue to develop our Youth Structure to even things up.
Our pitch will again be improved, to make it one of the finest in Non-League football and we will endeavour to be creative in the transfer market to improve the Squad, by bringing in a player or two. If we can achieve those things and get off to a good start, who knows perhaps a top half finish or better is possible…”.

16 Mar 2006 - BOREHAM WOOD WIN THE CONFERENCE YOUTH LEAGUE CUP
|The BOREHAM WOOD Conference Youth League Team beat Gravesend & Northfleet 2 - 0 in the FINAL of the Conference Youth League Cup at Thurrock F.C. on Wednesday 15 March 2006. Luke O'Malley scored both goals for Boreham Wood.
WELL DONE LADS!
16 Mar 2006 - “BABES IN THE WOOD”
|For the first time in its history Boreham Wood’s P.A.S.E. Team has brought the Southern Conference Football League Cup home to Meadow Park.
It seems anything our Senior side can do our P.A.S.E. Team can do better. Just like the First Team they’ve enjoyed a wonderful Cup campaign, that finished in victory on Wednesday afternoon at Thurrock’s ground when they defeated Gravesend & Northfleet who hail from the Conference National 2 – 0 …
“Although the foundations of this victory were laid, by the strength of Wood’s Second and Third year veterans Elvis Balic, Joe O’Brien, Jamie Hazell, Greg Morgan, Dennis Paratusic and Skipper Brad Hewitt… It was the First Year youngsters who grabbed the headlines… Young Luke O’Malley hit a thirty yard screamer in the first half and followed it with a poacher’s goal in the second half while giving a mature performance, that delighted the ‘Wood’ faithful… Other First year youngsters such as Nicky Martin, Ola Williams, Joe Atkins, and Callum Horton all stuck manfully to their tasks to nullify pre-match favourites Gravesend & Northfleet with gutsy performances, and seemed to thrive under the spotlight…
For the first twenty minutes ‘Wood’ defended resolutely, against a strong Gravesend side, before a quick free kick played to O’Malley changed things. O’Malley took one stride, before unleashing an unstoppable thirty yarder into the roof of the net… From that point on the ‘underdog spirit’ that has perpetuated the whole Club this Season, once again came to the fore… When another Luke O’Malley goal put the game beyond doubt in the second half it was time for ‘Wood’ to dominate. “In truth our youngsters grew stronger and they demoralised Gravesend”… said Chairman Danny Hunter.
“This is a fabulous achievement for the Club, it shows the strides we’re making behind the scenes and the progress our Youth Structure is making” Hunter concluded.
“This Sunday “WOOD” youngsters have a Semi-Final in the Herts. County Cup against Hemel Hempstead… Let’s hope the First Team give a performance against Woking on Saturday to inspire another wonderful performance from my promising young players of tomorrow” said P.A.S.E. Manager and First Team player Chris Watters.
Squad: Callum Horton, Ola Williams, Nicky Martin, Brad Hewitt, Denis Paratusic, Joe Aktins, Joe O’Brien, Elvis Balic, Greg Morgan, Jamie Hazell, Luke O’Malley. Subs: Francis Otira, Eduardo Fernandes, Danny Hart, Tony Cornick, Seldyn Grant.
