Match Report
So we didn't win the second Cup Final but we did put up a much improved performance compared to last week.
Farsley showed why they are the team that set the standard we all need to match. We started brightly enough and showed some good touched and competed in midfield. Rumour has it,I was looking the other way,that Kaan commited a foul while tackling someone. There's one for the photo album!!!!
The bottom line today was that they defended well and we took a while to gain some confidence and assert ourselves on the game. We conceeded in the first half to a deflected own goal and could have been level at half time with a little more luck.
Second half opened and they went straight through the middle of us and Matthew pulled of the first of 3 excellant saves. We calmed down and got back into the game. Ady and Paul both came off with injuries and we had to shuffle the pack a little. They scored again when we failed on two occassions to clear the ball from outside our box.
Cameron had one of the best chances and put the ball just wide from a Kaan through ball. Kaan had another chance cleared off the line after great work from Matty following a superb cross.
By this point the game got a little ragged and both teams stopped playing any football. Again another individual error and Farsley were in for a third. The game slowly ebbed away and Colts started to play some confident passing football but all was to no avail.
The season finishes with a lot of positives, two Cup Finals and third place in the league. I'm not sure how we can better this next year but in the name of progress we need to .
