CLUB DETAILS
Directions - From A19 take Easington exit (after Peterlee when coming from south). Follow the slip road and take your 1st exit at the roundabout. Carry on down Easington Road, go straight over a mini roundabout, continue past the library on your right, when you see an Indian takeaway on the left, take the right straight opposite. Straight ahead of you is some park gates, the ground is through these gates and at the top of the hill. There is no car access to the park so parking is in the road around the entrance.

Formed in 1913 as Easington Colliery Welfare, the club got off to a slow start before any honours came Colliery's way but in the thirties Easington started to dominate the Wearside League. Winning 5 Championships and 5 Cup Finals. In 1955 Easington's biggest day came when a crowd of 4,500 saw the Colliery lose 2-0 to Tranmere Rovers in the first round of the FA Cup the only time that Easington have reached the first round proper.

In 1964 Easington dis-banded but re-formed in 1973. Once more honours came Easington's way with 3 Cup Final victories. A new era was just around the corner and in 1980 the Welfare amalgamated with highly successful Easington Rangers from the Houghton and District League and EASINGTON COLLIERY A.F.C were born.

The new Easington wanted to play at a higher level and quickly plans to progress were made but Easington's first attempt to join the Northern League was unsuccessful as their new stand was incomplete. In 1985, Easington were finally elected to the Northern League 2nd Division and soon made their presence felt. Winning promotion at the first attempt, scoring over 100 goals and winning their last 9 games to gain runners-up spot behind Newcastle Blue Star. The following year Easington consolidated their First Division spot and they also reached the final of the League Cup only to lose in the final to Spennymoor in extra time. In 1988 Easington once again just failed to land a major honour when Bishop Auckland beat them in the County Cup at Roker Park.

Since then Easington have had their ups and downs and after being relegated in 1990 they once again won promotion at the first attempt in 1991 their stay did not last long however and relegation came once more in 1993. Easington regained their First Division status when they gained promotion with a tremendous run of victories which saw them pip local rivals Shotton Comrades to third spot in Division Two.
