Stocksfield F.C were founded in 2005 and entered the Northern Football Alliance. In their first season (2005/06) they finished 4th in the league narrowly missing out on promotion, but won the Pin Point Personnel Amateur Cup defeating Whitley Bay A in the final. The following season (2006/07) they finished runners-up in Division 2 and gained promotion to the Northern Alliance First Division.
Stocksfield have adjusted to life in the first division and are on course for their end of season target of consolidation and a top five finish. Next season the club hope to bring in a new manager and several new players in order to strengthen the squad in order to challenge for promotion.
Phil Murray and Graeme Watson are currently in charge of team affairs, with Bruce Vause running the training sessions on a Thursday night at Prudhoe High School. The future is looking bright for the club, they have recently become an F.A Charter Standard Club and a new multi-use training facility is due for completion at the end of January 2008.
Stocksfield play in orange shirts, black shorts and black socks and play their home fixtures at Stocksfield Cricket Club + Sports Ground. |
