Home ground: Ironmould Lane, Brislington Brislington Cricketers FC were formed in 1992 by local villagers Ian Thomas and Timothy Iles. They entered the Bristol + Avon League under the guidance of Paul Iles and were extremely successful in there debut season, winning the league with an unbeaten 30 game record and the Temple Colston Cup. Nick Tredigo scored 29 goals that season and that total stood unbeaten for 14 years until Matt Grimes smashed 40 goals in the 2006/07 season. Clive Peters guided the club to a Memorable League and Cup Double that season in his farewell year to revive the villagers fortunes. The club play there fixtures at the theatre of dreams that is Ironmould Lane and are now managed by Former Cricket Captain Ian Norbury. Norbury led the team to their second successive league title and promotion to the B+D 2nd Division. The club has also expanded this season with the introduction of a Reserves side to be managed by local hero and ex-player Bez. The club is sponsored by local bus firm, Abusfaresaver, owned by Alan Peters. |
