The team was originally formed in 1993 under the name Kinbuck Thistle, but re-named Dunblane Thistle at the start of the 2006/07 season. After a largely unsuccesful first decade, promotion to the First Division was achieved in 2004. This was followed by League Cup success in 2005. The team then narrowly missed out on promotion in the 2 seasons that followed and finished last season in 6th position. The club aims to achieve promotion to the Premier League this season.
We are always on the look out for new players and if anyone is interested in coming down to train then please call The manager (details below). The team will be training on Wednesday nights at Recreation Park in Alloa - road run at 7pm, then on the pitch at 8pm for 1 hour. |
