Hoveton Wherrymen was formed in 1992 by Ray Gates and Alan Royall who left Wroxham Football Club to form the team. The club started in the North East Norfolk Division 3 and four years later, in 1995/96, they topped Division 1 and did the treble by winning the League, the Benevolent Cup and the League Cup. Hoveton Wherrymen then had a brief spell in the Anglian Combination before returning to the North East Norfolk League. This season Hoveton Wherrymen are starting there 3rd year back in the Anglian Combination and will be hoping to gain promotion for the second season running with Jon Powley remaining as Manager. The Reserve team have just completed a successful 2nd season missing out on promotion into Div.1 of the Rogers and Norton League by just goal difference, will be looking to strengthen there team to gain promotion this season with Reece Cunningham manging for his 1st season.
