Hurstpierpoint Football Club play in the Sussex County Football League DIV 3. The Club has a long history, having been formed in 1888. Originally playing on a pitch near Danny House, an Elizabethan mansion with extensive grounds, the Club's current home is Fairfield Recreation Ground, located half-a-mile down Cuckfield Road from the mini-roundabout in Hurstpierpoint.
Hurst were amongst the founder members of SCFL DIV 3 in 1983/84, where they have remained ever since. The club’s highest league finish has been fifth on two occasions - 1987/88 and 1996/97. Prior to joining the SCFL, the majority of Hurst’s history was as a member of the Mid Sussex Football League, where they enjoyed considerable success in both league and cup competitions.
The First Team colours are all royal blue with white highlights, with the away strip being green and white.
Hurst also run a Reserve Team which plays in the MSFL DIV 1, having been promoted following a successful 2005/6 campaign. A link to the Reserves' website can be found to the left.
In season 2007/8 the Club also started a Youth team which plays in the Sussex County Youth Football League. Again a link to the Youth team website can be found to the left.
The Club's three major sponsors from previous seasons - Tracmaster (www.tracmaster.co.uk), Pickett White Garage and Plumb Center (www.plumbcenter.co.uk) - remain committed to supporting our development. Links to these and other sponsors' websites can be found on this page. The Club greatly appreciates the support of all these contributors. |
