News item22 Jul 2010 - Hengrove Preview

Click here for further information on Lee Burns
Lee Burns
We travel away tonight in our second pre-season game to Hengrove Athletic of the Toolstation League First Division, this game will kick off at 7.30pm.

Manager Lee Burns said "Having played for many years in the Western League, I have made some very good friends, lots of enemies too, but the Hengrove guys would certainly fall in to the first category. Jamie Hillman their Manager and I talk on a regular basis about teams, their strengths and weaknesses last season which was helpful with the run in of games in the promotion push.

We had two very difficult games against Hengrove last season but managed to pick up maximum points home and away 2-1 on both occasions. Gino Necco being a thorn in their side at home grabbing both goals and two stunning goals away first by Jamie Taylor and the second a fine left footed finish by Simon Charity gave us the victory away.

This will be a real test for us tonight and am looking forward to another 90 minutes on the road to fitness levels for the start of the season opener at Bitton

I am pleased that Adie has agreed to bring his team up and will be a stern test for us and am really looking forward to seeing how far we have come as a team since I took over last year".

News item12 Jul 2010 - Chippenham Town game to be played at Bath University

Due to the lack of rain in recent weeks, the pitch will be not be ready in time for the opening friendly against prestigious opposition Chippenham Town on Saturday 17th of July 3:00pm kick off

After investing heavily in the pitch for the coming season back in the Premier of the Western League, the Odd Down football committee has decided to changed the location of the match to the premier pitch at Bath University where the surface is already excellent and will provide a fitting venue for the game.

Adie Mings has agreed to bring his team along and give us a tough opening pre-season fixture said Burns and it is a shame that the pitch isn't going to be ready in time, but because of the severe lack of rain in recent weeks, the deep seeding hasn't had the opportunity to grow through as much as we had liked and had no alternative to play the game at the University.
All supporters are welcome along and the pitch is the first one you come across as you enter the University grounds
