Pease Pottage Village play in the Sussex County League Division Three.
The club was formed in 1990/01 season when it entered the Mid Sussex Football League Division 1. Winning that division in the club's first season, the 1st team were promoted to the Premier division. The club soon developed into quite a force in the Mid Sussex League where both First team and Reserve team proved successful. Eventually the club achieved its ambition in the 2001/02 season when it gained promotion to the Sussex County League Division 3. The top Intermediate level league in Sussex. In our first season the club won the division only losing twice in the league all season. The required works at the ground in the summer of 2002, enabled the club to take its place in Division Two of the SCFL, and reach 'senior level' status after only 10 years.
This proved to be a step to far too soon, as the club went through a transition in terms of players and managers of both first and reserve teams. In our first season in Senior football we were spared relegation by the folding of Oving FC and the amalgamation of Eastbourne Utd and Shinewater Association. A second season in Divsiion Two saw the club finish outside of the relegation places, but the following season, the inevitable happened and we were relegated to Division Three again.
We used the 05/06 season to re-build, appointing a new manager, and introducing many new faces to the club. Last season we again re-established ourselves as a force in intermediate football, finishing runner up in Div 3 and winning a cup treble. While this was happening on the pitch we aimed to put plans into place that will better equip us for senior football again. |
